Day 2 Of Discussion

Today we discussed what our general genre of our magazine is going to be. We figured out that our genre is going to be sports. We have yet to find a title that fits the needs that we want, but as of now we are using Sports News as the title,as a rough draft. Then we went to discuss the different topics we are going to write about. We figured out that I am going to do soccer, Rafael is doing basketball and Colby is doing bodybuilding and physique. We are going to talking about the nutrition needed to be able to be successful playing sports, which is going to be making our magazine unique. Also we are each going to be providing a different cover page title to be as unique and original as possible. Throughout the magazine we are going to discussing information that is necessary to the knowledge of the topic and relevant news of the sport. We currently do not know where any of our photos are going to be coming from or any of the shots we will be taking. All of the shots that are going to be put inside of the magazine are going to be related to the genre of the magazine. We are reviewing the technology needed to create this magazine and all of its elements. We are reviewing Adobe Photoshop as everyone in our group has had past experience in photoshop. The photo below shows Rafael working with photoshop touching up his skills that he may have forgotten. He is using the quick selection tool to cut out the object he is wanting in the image below.

Blog #14 Today we are doing interview questions, I thought that it would be a good idea to interview someone that has good experience in the soccer community and world. I thought that it would be best to interview Rafael. Rafael is on a team with an undefeated record which is making him a credible source to interview. blog #17 I finished my cover magazine and like the result of it. I think the cut out of jack could have been better than what I did. My lack of experience in photoshop limits the things I can do. I did the best of my ability to make it look professional. I put an IQ scan code on my magazine to make the magazine look professional and look like if would be in a grocery store or a book store. I am going to put my finished product down below. I started on the table of contents. I chose the same font as my cover page. The font is called Soccer League, I download the fonts off the DaFonts.com. The website has thousands of fonts for free to download. The table of contents should not take me that long to finish as the cover page as it is less editing and photoshopping. I am going to be working on the table of contents at my house since I am coming down to the final weeks and need to get the magazine finished.

Blog Post #4 Day 9 of Discussion Today we decided to make the font of our title red, as research was done to prove the use of red in sports makes athletes feel more dominant and in control. We found this information on a website called "Color Psychology". Here is an image of the progress that we have so far. Something that I have had diffuculty with is photoshop. The photoshop was unable to open on my computer due to lack of space on my disk. It took mulitple attempts to fix this issue so i can proceed with my work. I  ended up have to delete "Steam" from my computer along with two games. After, I was able to begin to work on my project. But the thing is I only have a 7 day free trial on the software. I will probably have to go to my digital design teacher and ask for a student code for photoshop so I will be able to have access to the program.
